Department of Evangelism:
The saints from all over the world came to be a part of the International Auxiliaries In Ministry Summer Convention. June 30th through July 4th proved to be an awesome time in the city of Detroit, Michigan. I would like to thank our Presiding Bishop Charles Blake for allowing us to serve this great church; we also praise God for our Chairman, Superintendent J. Drew Sheard.
The Missions and Evangelists Convention was an awesome time in the presence of God. We heard anointed preaching and teaching. Thank God for Bishop Carlos Moody and Elect Lady Maria Gardner Thomas, and all of the Vice – Presidents. I especially would like to take this time to thank all of the workers and teachers that served faithfully to make this a great convention. So often, we never take time to say thank you for those that work behind the scenes to make things work and run smoothly. The bible says in (Heb 6:10) "For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” During conventions of this magnitude, the days start early and end late. Again, I cannot express to you enough my deep appreciation for the love you demonstrated toward the saints in the Missions and Evangelists Convention 2008.
On Wednesday, July 2nd, the prison ministry/street ministry transported 22 people to the Cass Corridor Park. We were blessed to give out bags filled with hygiene materials, fruit and bottled water I am pleased to report that 32 people received Jesus as Savior! Additionally, two groups went to Dickerson Prison and 71 men received Jesus as Saviour over a span of two days. Thank God, for the prison ministry and street ministry teams which serve under the Department of Evangelism.
